Happy #nationalipaday! Wasn’t going to make a post, but my good buddy @scott_beermeister inspired me. In case you didn’t know, @crookedcrabbeer makes a mean beer. Whether you’re in the mood for crazy hazies (like this here Sauce Boss), wild fruited sours, big stouts, or crushable Lagers, they’ve got you covered. With this beer, I’m digging the fruity notes both in the flavor and aroma, and how well it hides the alcohol. Cheers!

Who doesn’t love board games and beers? @landmadebeer has a great covered patio, so the wind don’t blow the cards everywhere. Plus, the beers here are so sessionable and crushable, yet packed with great flavor. Didn’t even have time to take pictures of the food before we’d scarfed it all down, either. Cheers!

I took my very first beer account pic and made my first post here at @monumentcitybrewing, so they’ve always had a special place in my heart. (Or liver?) They make fantastic traditional styles, but their NEIPAs are also on point. I still remember being blown away the first time I had NOBO, and it holds up. Fruity and tropical, dank and grassy, it’s super tasty. Cheers!

It’s been a minute since @mdcraftbeergirl and I trekked out west, but I really wanted to get back to @oldemotherbrewing. This cold IPA, Coldy Scheiße, is super tasty. It’s much lighter than a hazy, with the German hops singing nicely in the background with some pine and a little citrus. Very smooth. Also, I didn’t even take a pic of my burger from @fiftyfiftyfoodtruck because it was love at first bite. Seriously. Cheers!

@mdcraftbeergirl and I got on the road today to keep our titles of visiting all Maryland breweries. We’re up in Havre de Grace visiting one of the newest to open, @marketstreetbrewery. I’m drinking the Bock, and Esther is enjoying the stout with a dash of raspberry syrup. Also, they have a great-sized taproom with a picturesque view of the water. Cheers!

What’s making this beardless Viking so happy right now you might ask? Well, apart from the fact that it’s gorgeous outside, it’s Friday, and I have a beer in my hand?
It’s the Festival der Lagerbiere tomorrow at @monumentcitybrewing! You’ll find me there holding a Maßkrug or pounding nails with a hammer all while enjoying Lager and Festbiere from different Maryland breweries. Checking out one of Maryland’s newest breweries, @thicknthinbrewery in Hagerstown. Definitely a hike, but the beers were solid, and self-serve walls are always fun. I thought their hazies were good, although the stout was also nice and sweet. Check ‘em out next time you’re in western Maryland. Cheers!

Two days, two new breweries. @mdcraftbeergirl and I went to @blacklocusthops last night and were rewarded with a beautiful (and massive) hop yard, knowledgeable and friendly owners, and some solid beers. I was very impressed with the operation, and learned some new things about hops. They even had a few beers made exclusively with hops grown on their farm, which was awesome! Today we hit up @interchangebrewing to enjoy the beach in Williamsport. If you like tropical fruit flavors in your beer, look no further—they’ve got you covered! Cheers!

After a long day, we finally made it back home with our haul. Didn’t bring back as much as we’d intended (got sidetracked visiting a lot of old friends), but thanks to the folks at @bierereibar and @bierothek.leipzig for the recommendations. Can’t wait to start cracking into these and introducing them to our American friends. Prost!

Recently @mdcraftbeergirl and I (along with our friends @pourofbaltimore, @frankaboutbeer and @21stamendmentgirl) were invited to @monumentcitybrewing to check out their new “smol” saison. Let me tell you folks, these beers are worth grabbing! I was shocked by the depth of flavor, and appreciated that it still tasted like beer, not just a fruit smoothie. Delicious! Also, their Helles was fantastic, very much reminding me of Germany. Last but not least, the Holloways Project peach saison—wow. Incredible flavor and aroma, very much an homage to old-world brewing. If you can get your hands on any of these, do yourself a favor. Cheers!

Today @mdcraftbeergirl and I went to the @brewersgames_md hosted by @keybrewing. In a hard-fought competition, @streetcar82brewingco pulled ahead and brought home the belt in style. We’re so happy for them, and it was an honor to celebrate afterwards at their taproom. Looking forward to watching you defend that belt next year, and I hope you wear it proudly. Cheers!
